Alsip Board Nominations

The seats

Duties come from Article VIII of our Constitution. The Board meets monthly.

Two-year term

President Erik Marquez Runs the league and answers for it to Little League.

Secretary Donald Noah Minutes, records, and meeting notices.

Player Agent Joe DeAngeles Drafts, player eligibility, and volunteer background checks.

League Director #1 Nicholas Tovar Registration, equipment safety, and special events.

Filling an unexpired term

Vice President Vacant Stands in for the President. Also Safety Director.

Treasurer Gabby Tovar (interim) League and Auxiliary money, records, and the budget.

League Director #2 (Dennis Capello) is on the odd-year cycle and is not up this year. That is why it is six seats and not seven.

Any volunteer with regular contact with players needs a background check before starting. We will send you the application link.

Worth knowing

September 6 is not your last chance. Nominations are also taken from the floor at the meeting.
The Secretary contacts whoever is named and asks them to accept in writing before the name goes on the advance list. The Board has not adopted this step yet.
Being elected is not the same as being seated. Little League's Child Protection Program requires a background check to clear before anyone takes up duties. The Board has not adopted a rule of its own on this yet.
No meeting attendance is required. The requirement is membership in good standing.
Voting is on paper, in the room. No proxy, absentee, or electronic voting.
You vote for people, and the Board assigns the offices. Article V Section 1 has the members elect Directors, and the new Board then elects who holds each office. How that squares with the six named seats above is another thing the Board has not settled.
